1. Lack of prepared healthy meal
plans in the grocery store makes it harder to eat healthy while having a busy
life
Why: In the
store, most are the meals are mainly frozen or something not as healthy like
lasagna. The only healthy options that are prepared are salads. It is more
affordable for the grocery store to prepare frozen meals or something like
pasta because it is cheaper than preparing a well-balanced meal of carbs,
proteins, and vegetables.
2. A crowded gym means there are
less machines/mats and more people to move around
Why: People like to work out at certain
times on a scheduled basis. During certain times, people come to the gym at the
same time. For example, senior citizens around 12 pm or 1 pm.
3. People getting sick around exam
time and there is a university-wide illness aka “UF Plague”
Why: People are more stressed out and
have a weakened immune system resulting from lack of sleep, being close to one
another in a crowded library, lack of nutrition and exercising
4. The lines in college-ruled
notebooks make it difficult to write math formulas and problems down,
especially complicated ones. However, wide-ruled is more meant for
elementary-school children.
Why: college-ruled paper is meant to be
smaller than wide ruled because older students can write in smaller font than a
child learning how to write. However, in upper-level math courses,
formulas/problems require multiple lines in a college-ruled notebook because it
is so dense.
5. Juul-ing at football games or
indoor venues and can trigger breathing issues for people who suffer from
asthma
Why: people are addicted to nicotine and
there are a lack of rules and regulations around Juuls
6. Krishna lines being incredibly
long (especially on Wednesday) to grab lunch in a timely manner making people
late to class
Why: Lots of people really enjoy eating
Krishna Lunches because it is delicious
7. Starbucks cups being a single-use
plastic, then being thrown away, and takes hundreds of years to break down in
the environment
Why: Starbucks uses plastic cups because
it is the cheapest option for them for their drinks
8. Lots of new student “luxury”
apartments being built creates noise, is an eye-sore while it is being built,
and decreasing quality of life
Why: University of Florida is trying to
increase the number of students. If there are more places to live, more
students can come to UF.
9. People using disabled parking
decals when they are more capable than others who truly need the disabled
parking space
Why: Because they do not want to walk
the additional footage to the stores/restaurants
10. Pocket tissues do not come with
Vicks medication and lotion
Why: People more likely will buy box
tissues over pocket tissues. Therefore, the added cost of adding in medication
and lotion in not worth the lack of profit margins.
11. Apartments won’t let you nail
holes into the wall to hang things up, but Command Strips/Hooks sometimes
cannot always hold the weight of the object
Why: Apartment complexes do not want to
have to fill in the holes and then paint over it to make the wall look uniform
12. Fruit goes bad in the fridge
faster than you can consume it sometimes resulting it the fruit being thrown
away
Why: The fruits are exposed to microorganisms
like bacteria that begin the decaying process in the fridge
13. Checking into apartments for
move-ins is stressful and often times unorganized resulting in numerous errors
and stress
Why: So many people are moving into the
apartment complex making it difficult to stay organized unless the office is
efficient
14. In numerous cases, there have
been fake Uber drivers impersonating real ones. Frequently riders have been
either assault or murder. This has caused mistrust with this type of travel
platform
Why: People feel the need to attack
others. Additionally, people are not properly following Uber’s protocol.
15. IPhone batteries die quickly,
but decent to-go battery chargers are often clunky, heavy, and take up room
Why: Technology has not been developed
enough to create a small and incredibly efficient battery charger
16. It is difficult to wash
all-white sneakers that are dirty without destroying the shoe itself
Why: Shoes are harder to wash than
t-shirts because there are more parts to it, have specific setting, and they
dry differently as well.
17. It is difficult to get dog pee
out of mattress toppers and they often stain
Why: The unique material of the mattress
topper makes it difficult to get dog urine out, if at all
18. The top portion of crutches are
uncomfortable, making it annoying to walk around because it hurts
Why: It is cheap to manufacture
unstuffed handles, rather than a plush material that is more comfortable for
movement
19. Lovebugs season- an insane
amount of love bugs that often times end up dead on cars. It is an eye sore and
can harm the paint on the car
Why: There are no natural predators to
love bugs because they are an invasive species. Therefore, when they do
populate there is an insane amount of love bugs flying around- easy for cars to
hit.
20. It is hard to remember so many
passwords for various apps and websites. So when you try and login off a
different device from the original, you have to reset the passwords, which is
annoying and takes time.
Why: Google Chrome has autosave for
usernames and passwords, so you don’t have to memorize passwords off a
particular device.
Reflection: It was
actually more difficult for me to start the list of 20 rather than end it. I
struggled with having large bug ideas, but bugs can be small issues as well.
For example, fruit rotting quickly in a fridge. I really had to open my mind
more, so that is why I think I struggled more at the beginning of the exercise.
Once I was able to open my eyes, I managed to do more bugs faster.
